Just a little to the right of the LED light is a small switch block that has 4 tiny white switches.ĥ.
then take off the metal cover (3 screws) this red LED light is on the upper circuit board in the lower left corner.Ĥ. If you take off the plastic cover on the back (3 screws) andģ. If you look through the top of the set when the picture is on you can see some white light at several locations, when the screen goes blank the white lights go out and a red LED light can be seen.Ģ. Like i said, I went word for word as per the instructions and mine now works fine PLEASE NOTE.I HAVE NO EXPERIENCE WITH INTERNAL TRANSISTORS AND THIS SHOULD ONLY BE DONE IF YOU FEEL CONFIDENT OPENING THE BACK OF THE TV. So i found a fix on a forum courtesy of a user (cdmc). It seems to resolve the problem for about 3 days then the screen starts going of again. Most people say its the capacitor and have gone on to change it.

I ended up finding this crazy considering a)where do you get this kind of free money after Christmas and b) why would Polaroid sell a product a known defective part that I have also read is from a cheap manufacturer that has gone out of business. This appears to be a known problem and as iof, Polaroid are trying to charge a whopping $250.00 to get someone to come out and "replace the damaged control box". The power light is still blue and there is still sound from the speakers. The main problem is that after continued use (i have seen ranges from 6 months to 2 years for mine). I have heard some negative reviews about Polaroid LCDs. I also bought my tv Black Friday (Nov 23) 2007 at Walmart. My super good buy went from Black Friday to Black Screen. My Overall Experience with this product is summed up as a complete nightmare. This TV SUCKS the screen went black after 6 months and polaroid wont replace it. What a POS also got it on a black friday.
